I love scuba diving. It's a way to visit another world without leaving the planet. It feels like another planet. Your body is weightless and you can move up and down or maintain a hover by controlling the pace of your breath. A slow, shallow breath keeps you levitating at peak buoyancy. Take a deep breath and your lungs are full of air, which makes you lighter (since air is lighter than water), so you go up. Decrease the amount of air in your lungs and you get heavier and go down. How cool is that?!
My other favorite thing about scuba diving is finding all the teensy tiny things in the coral reefs. Some people get off on seeing sharks or giant rays or turtles, but not me. Give me a sea slug any day. They are truly the rock stars of the ocean, in my opinion. Which also makes them my favorite Google Image search. Google Image searches are a great way to take a mini trip in your mind and a great source for inspiration in life and in art.
